It all began in the 1960s with Del Webb's Sun City. The opening days of that community had folks lined up for the opportunity to buy into a retirement lifestyle community. A lot has changed over the last 50 years, but the active adult lifestyle is going strong and is a very popular choice. As a general rule of thumb, an age qualified community is geared to 55 and up, but a certain percentage of buyers can often be in the 45-55 range. No children are permitted to live in the community year around, but are allowed to visit. Each community has different rules to that effect so be sure to ask The Tim and Kym Team for clarification before looking.
